Week 7

Day 43

February 12th
Anytime you are holding a stuffed animal and I sing "ohhh sweet baby, ohhh he loves him" you'll hug the stuffed animal just like this, by lifting him up to your shoulder and tilting your head into it. It's pretty darn adorable.

Day 44

February 13th
I did your Valentine's Day pictures today. You had a little sign next to you offering "Free Eskimo Kisses" next to a pile of snowballs (not pictured here).
This is one of my favorite shots of you for the day, maybe ever actually.
You look like such a little model and I'm so in trouble when you become a teenager.

Day 45

Febraury 14th
My little Valentine
Today we went to a 3D movie, then to Dairy Queen
(not the best idea for a lactose intolerant baby lol, but we still found you something),
and then to Air it Out (a building full of inflatable stuff to play on) and we had a blast!
You were nervous at first, but after I would do each thing with you once you were ready to try them on your own. You looked terrified all the way down this big slide and then once you got to the bottom you'd start madly giggling and climbing around to go again.

Day 46

February 15th
The snow on the ground had just melted so it was a bit yucky outside.
We'd swing together for a while, then you'd hop down and run off,
get about 15 feet away, and turn back to see me still on or near the swing and then come running back to swing some more, over and over again :)

Day 47

February 16th
Today I took you to the church playground for the first time, it's been a while since we've been to a playground so it was neat to see you really getting into it at this age, a little scary too though. You climbed up as high as possible without hesitation - your duck in tow. The bigger kids at the playground (all girls) kept running up to ask me if they could take turns holding you. So they played "pass the Spencer" for a bit and you soaked up the attention like a sponge, always such a little flirt.

Day 48

February 17th
We took your Great Grandma to the chinese restaurant in town, she talked about how much you look/act like my Father (her son) which makes my heart smile.
Also, you really like teriyaki chicken on a stiiiiiick.

Day 49

February 18th
We got out the mountain bike today and went for a ride.
You sat on the handlebars with a big smile on your face as we cruised down the slopes.

Week 6 - 2014

Day 36

February 5th
I say "no Spencer, don't eat the colors" -  you respond "eat colohrs no no"
...and then proceed to shove them into your mouth.

Day 37

February 6th
Great Grandma and you shared some spaghetti 'Lady and the Tramp' style
at the Macaroni Grill after Maw's doctors appointment.

Day 38

February 7th
My Alfafinator.

Day 39

February 8th
Playing on the 1970s Sit 'n Spin that Grandma got you.
You haven't figured out how to do it on your own yet,
so we spun on it a little differently than instructed.

Day 40

February 9th
I love watching you observe the world around you,
the way your face lights up just melts me.

Day 41

February 10th
So ..I'm not gonna lie, I kinda (really) excitedly freaked out in a super-embarrassing-spastic-Ma sort of way when we walked into the grocery store and I saw these mini-carts up front. If you were older, you might have pretended not to know me lol. But that is part of what is so great right now- you get excited about little stuff like this too. I hope you never stop finding small joys in life (yes even a mini shopping cart can be a fun time). You pushed this cart all around the store and put several items into it with such pride on your face. Oddly enough, an impressive assortment of soaps seemed to be what you grabbed the most of for your cart. This was simple and silly, but nevertheless it made my day.

Day 42

February 11th
So we kind of failed at our first snowy day photo together,
in an awesomely epic hilarious dorky sort of way. And I kind of ❤ it.

Week 5 - 2014

Day 29
January 29th
Of all the bath toys you have, this simple blue cup has been played with the most by far.

Day 30

January 30th
Out of the blue, you decided you were a grown up this morning.
You picked up the paper, sat back and started "reading" it
as if it were something you'd been doing for decades.

Day 31

January 31st
You have been running around like a maniac lately- face diving over large things and then laughing uncontrollably at yourself. This has not been Mama's favorite phase.

Day 32

February 1st
Grandma Tara sneaking in some sweet snuggles.

Day 33

February 2nd
Cruising around the living room with cousin Em.
She jumped on and you followed right behind her.

Day 34

February 3rd
Confession of a first time Ma:
I still sneak into your room some nights to watch you sleeping
(& to make sure you're still breathing.)

Day 35

February 4th
Oh boy, seeing you make this face - is like watching a lion
right before it jumps out of hiding to attack some unsuspecting prey.

Day 27

Day 28

January 28th
You are a lot more interested in reading lately,
and sometimes if I'm lucky you even pretend to read to me.

Week 3 - 2014

Day 15

January 15th
You inherited the crazy "Walsh" toenails from me, sorry kid.
I can't help but love them though :)

Day 16
January 16th
Goodness  ♥   My cup runneth over

Day 17
January 17th
If something can possibly be worn as a hat, it will be.
I'd say this green thing is probably your favorite sudo-hat.

Day 18
January 18th
I shouldn't let you play with my new glasses,
but sheesh.. look at all that adorkableness.

Day 19
January 19th
You are officially a toddler.
And yes, those are my pants that you are hanging onto for dear life.

Day 20
January 20th
Bathtime. Just plain precious.

Day 21
January 21st
Perfect t-shirt for this day (Here comes trouble).
Spencer the toddler teething monster, oh my.

Friday, February 7, 2014

Week 2 - 2014

Day 8
January 8th
This is your "catch me if you can" face.

Day 9

January 9th
He wears pants on his head, but don't call him a "pants-head."

Day 10
January 10th
There is very little time throughout every day that you
ARE NOT wearing a hat of some sort.

Day 11
January 11th
I love watching as you try to figure out how things piece together,
and the victory that lights up on your face when you finally do.

Day 12

 January 12th
So you put your spinach on your head instead of in your mouth tonight at dinner, I thought it was hilarious and may have encouraged you to do it again (for a picture)... and now you always put your spinach on your head. Whoops.

Day 13

January 13th
Tonight you figured out how to work Mama's camera remote,
not too shabby kid.

Day 14

January 14th
Caution: Beware of these eyebrows and well... this look in general.

Virtual Scrapbook

Let me start this post off by saying that I love scrapbooking, to hold an actual scrapbook in my hands and flip through the pages is an incredible pleasure of mine. They are so much better than basic photo albums. That being said, unfortunately I don't have the time (right now) to sit down and make the amount of scrapbooks I would want to document your existence so far.
I have your baby book which is (mostly full) with our stories and such. I also have copious amounts of photos on facebook, my laptop, my phone, my external hard drive etc. Anyone who knows me can testify to that. However, what I don't have is anything combining the two: the pictures + the stories. This is precisely what a scrapbook is great for.  So, I've decided to do a virtual scrapbook (in blog form)... before the memories fade.  Luckily I photograph nearly everything we do, so I will have those pics to reference and jog my memory. I really hope this is one of the projects I will actually complete. My goal is to at least get it to the 12 month mark... and then go from there. Wish me luck!

Love you infinity sugarboo,
Mama.

Week 1 - 2014

January 1st
Today was a lazy day, but that didn't stop us from goofing around.
You love when I toss you up and down with my legs and I love hearing your silly laugh.

Day 2
January 2nd
Grandma always has balloons laying about the house, today I gave you a lesson in static electricity.

Day 3

January 3rd
Every time Aunt Ashley lays her head in your new TMNT chair (which is very often) you drop everything to run full speed and attack her. When will she ever learn?

Day 4
January 4th
Tonight we took Aunt Ashley to the skating rink.
You kept trying to throw your snacks into the rink to trip people up.
Always my little bully.

Day 5

January 5th
Grandma gave you multiple "modes of transportation" type toys for Christmas.
I joked that she gave them to you so you could always runaway to Grandma's house, she didn't deny it.

Day 6
January 6th
You really really love the tent you got for Christmas, you're all about forts (of any kind) these days. Always hiding in them and peeking out the 'windows' to giggle at anyone who sees you.

Day 7
January 7th
Aunt Ashley made your tent a little more cozy while you were napping today.
